America Needs To Take Back Congress

It is high time that we start calling a spade a spade.

I realize that the Supreme Court is about to be heavily packed to the right, but I also see where, as I keep hearing people call it, Bush has threaded the needle with the Roberts nomination. I am a realist. This is a fight that we can't win, but ROVEGATE is one that we can. And when the American people actually realize how little credibility the Bush Administration has, and how blindly the Republicans in the House and Senate have been following this liar, I believe that they will be ready for a change. Maybe even in Texas!

Congress is the key to this whole fight. We can't stop the right-handed direction of SCOTUS, but we can control the direction of Congress. All we really have to do as the true American Patriots is to get the message out, and get it out hard!

If Congress is out of the hands of the fascists, then we can pull this country then we can give control of the legislative process back to the average American, and wrestle it away from the robber barons (Halliburton, for instance), crooked politicans (Tom DeLay, for instance), and dictator wantabes (Bush, Rove, Frist, Hastert, take your pick).

Plus, with control of Congress, come the ability to write legislation in a way that SCOTUS isn't able to legitimately overturn (i.e., reproductive rights, civil rights, rescinding the worst parts of the "Patriot" act, etc.)

With the kind of credibility that the country hasn't been able to find since 2001, we have the best of chances to take back the White House and put this country back on the track that the majority of Americans demand that it be.

Real criminal behavior and acts of treason have no place in the White House, and those who want to ruin the ones who descent have no place in public service at taxpayer expense.

We cannot allow this unwinable fight against the Roberts Nomination hog the airwaves and the print media, and allow ROVEGATE to fall under the radar. These HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANERS cannot go ignored and unpunished. Rove must go, and Bush should be impeached.

ROVEGATE: How does it compare?

With the discovery that Karl Rove and "Scooter" Libby are traitors to the American cause, the intelligence community, and to the oath that they took to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and as more and more information continues to leak out, despite the efforts of the Bush Administration and corporate media to cover-up the story as much as possible, I got to thinking about how ROVEGATE compares in seriousness to WATERGATE, IRAN-CONTRAGATE, and of course that most horrible of horrible events.......MONICAGATE.

If you aren't old enough to remember, WATERGATE was about a cover-up of an administration backed burglary of the Democratic National Headquarters, at the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C., and also the illegal manipulation and complete misuse of the U.S. Intelligence Community by a paranoid, crooked President and his henchmen. Many went to jail. Most were left to deal with the shame of their actions for the rest of their lives (except maybe Charles Colson who "found God" and now believes that Watergate was his way to Salvation).

A President was forced to resign from office for the first, and so far, only time in American history. He was then, as you remember, pardoned by his successor, Gerald Ford, which was one reason the American people chose not to re-elect him for a full term in 1976.

IRAN-CONTRAGATE, or the Iran-Contra Affair, as some know it, was about a President who, through his overall ineptness or maybe complete unawareness of what was going on in his White House, allowed his minions to break American laws past by Congress to fund the Nicaraguan Contras (rebels) by using the funds from selling arms to IRAN, in return for which they would release, slowly American hostages that they had been kidnapping in the Middle East all through the early 1980's. This from a President who had said that he would "never negotiate with terrorists". .

Many in the administration were convicted for their part in this illicit affair, which saw Fox News SuperStar Oliver North convicted of felonies for masterminding this criminal activity and who was hands-on at shredding documents when the investigation started getting close. President Ronald Reagan was able to skirt past on this because he was able to plead plausible deniability and went on to endear himself to millions as the kind ole grandfather who just didn't know what was happening on his supposed watch.

Oliver North's conviction was overturned on a legal technicality, and most of the others were pardoned by Reagan's successor, George H.W. Bush.

MONICAGATE, as we all know, was the most horrible thing a President has done since George H.W. Bush vomited on the Japanese Emperor on a State trip to Japan.

But anyway, it actually started as an "investigation" into a ten year old land deal that President Bill Clinton was involved in when he was governor of Arkansas. After a thorough investigation by a Republican special prosecutor found no wrong doing by the President or Mrs. Clinton, some Republican Senators and Congressmen filed suit in a very conservative appeals court to have THAT prosecutor fired and replaced with a right-wing religious extremist named Kenneth Starr, who by the way, had SERVED on the same appeals court and was friends with these "judges". Starr, too, couldn't find anything on the Whitewater land deal, either, so at the behest of his right-wing facist friends, who had already coaxed some women whom Bill Clinton had been "immorally" involved with to start court proceedings (something allowed by the right-leaning Supreme Court, when Presidents had never been allowed to be sued while in office. And when the right-wing hypocrites like Newt Gingrich, many affairs of his own, and others in the same boat found out about another truest with intern Monica Lewinski, ordered Starr to turn his sights on the president's personal life, where they found what they believed was a lie under oath, and then impeached Clinton, who was later found not guilty by the Senate, over a lie about sex. Clinton, on his way out of office, admitted guilt as a way to get the entire thing overwith.

Now there is ROVEGATE. Here is a crisis....a real crisis. Why? Because Karl Rove, George W. Bush's top political strategist, and now his assistant chief-of-staff, and "Scooter" Libby, Dick Cheney's top advisor, have "outted" a CIA operative, Valerie Plame. This time the career and life of an undercover NOC CIA operative has been put in jeopardy...and WHY? Because her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson, who was made an ambassador by President George Bush, Sr., disclosed that information that he had uncovered, information that proved to be true, showed that President Bush and Karl Rove and Dick Chency and the entire Broadway cast of "Give My Regards to Halliburton", had included facts in the State of the Union Address, that would have been part of the reason for going to war with Iraq, and caused us to take our eyes off of Osama Bin Laden, who killed 3,000 more American's than Iraq ever did. (Of course, Bin Laden has only killed about 1,000 more American's, to date, that President George W. Bush has by sending American's into Iraq on lies and misdirection).

Plame was involved in a CIA "corporation" which was used as cover for the deep cover operatives in many parts of the world. When she was outed, the lives of probably hundreds of those who worked with her were put in jeopardy, not to mention her on life and career. She was actually an expert on WMD around the world.

Rove and his thuggery have tried to pass her off as a desk jockey and such. CIA employees who have worked and gone to CIA schooling with Ms. Plame have said that she was an undercover operative and that her connections are now all in danger. The flow of information to the U.S. government about WMD, at a time when this is so very important to national security, has started to be just a dribble. Our intelligence, according to the Bush White House, has been very bad for a while now, and of course, this caused the misreading of WMD they told us was there pre-Iraqi War.

ROVEGATE has done serious damage to the national security of the United States and its citizenry. It has brought into question everything that the Bush White House has told the American public since they took office. I haven't believed it before, but maybe they DID know about the 9/11 attacks before they happened. EVERYTHING that they have said, now comes into question.

It appears to me, that ROVEGATE has done more permanent damage to AMERICA than any single event since the Civil War (or as we know it in Texas, the War of Northern Aggression).

I believe it is about time that even President George W. Bush FINALLY answer some questions under oath himself, like President Clinton was forced to.

Firing Karl Rove and others would be a good start, but the IMPEACHMENT of GEORGE W. BUSH may be the only way to actually give this country back its credibility.

Conservative Extremists Hate Nazi Talk, So Let's Talk Facism

Nowadays, you here the conservative extremists, the right-wing religious extremists, et al, acting as if it is the most ridiculous thing in the world to make any comparison's between them, and the Nazi leaders of Germany before and during World War II. They actually will say that if you even make the comparison, you are calling them Nazi's!

Well, as the son of a man who was wounded during the Normandy Invasion, I would actually never call any American a nazi just because I disagree with their constitutionally guaranteed right to their own opinions. But comparison's to how business was done, between the Bush Administration and the Congressional cohorts, to me, is very fair game. But, since they all seem so offended by the word "nazi", and since they have no problem calling anyone who isn't a right-wing extremist, a socialist, then it is only fair to use the term "facist"
when discussing them.

Think, for instance, about the very worst parts of the "Patriot" act. Giving away some of our more important freedoms in the name of "safety", is such a shameless way to take away rights that we have held dear since the days of our founding fathers.

The neo-cons are now arguing that the Founding Fathers never even dreamed of the kind of threats that we now face in this unsettled world. And they would be right, to a point. But that comes on the heels of them saying that the Fathers would not have even imagined pornography when they demanded free speech. Once again, to a point, I am sure there is some truth to that statement too. But you know what, they do believe that the Founding Fathers would have seen that assault rifles would have been an obvious progression, and they wouldn't have dreamed of banning them!! Yeah, RIGHT!!

Of course there is always the "reasoning" behind going to war in Iraq, when we all know now that not only were there no Weapons Of Mass Destruction, but the Bushies were just using our fears after 9/11 to further their own agenda for wanting to take our country into war. A lie that they continue to try to perpetuate even now, when the cat keeps coming out of the bag on this subject.

This lie has already cost us nearly 1800 precious American lives, and maimed over 25,000!!

Now, lets take a look at some history.....

Adolf Hitler, wanting to take Germany into an empirical war, needed an excuse. So, he had some Jews killed that were from around the Polish border. Then he had them dressed in German uniforms, and placed at a German radio station, just inside the Polish border with Germany. Then he lied and claimed that the Poles had attacked poor, unsuspecting Germans and the people got up-in-arms and demanded that Hitler declare war on Poland! All he had to do was use the German peoples fears of Communism and their own safety against them to accomplish this not so small feat.

So, now Hitler had his excuse, and that is known as the beginning of World War II!!
(Now think about WMD's and Iraq & the lies that used to try to link it with 9/11...hmmmmmmmmm.)

Hitler also, convinced the German people that their fears of communism were definitely well-founded, and told them that it was necessary to give up some of their constitutional freedoms,
temporarily, so that he could protect them from the communist hordes. Of course, then he made sure that they became permanent along with the other freedoms that he started taking away as soon as he came to power. (Now think about the so-called "Patriot" act, or at least a whole lot of it and how it was supposed to sunset, and now they want to make the whole thing permanent!

One of the Founding Fathers had an interesting take on this over 200 years ago.
Benjamin Franklin once said "any man that would give up liberty for freedom, deserve neither".

Now, I don't really believe that George W. Bush intends to become dictator of the United States, but his party is doing everything within and without their power to make this a one-party facists state.

Using just one little State, Florida, and the Florida Secretary of State, the Florida Governor, the Florida legislature, and the U.S. Supreme Court, George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, "Scooter" Libby, and the Republican National Committee, in 2000 effectively pulled off the first coup d' tat in American history!!

It is starting to unravel somewhat, but they are trying everything to hold on to their complete and unwavering power. Stormtrooper Tom DeLay, the House Majority Leader of the Junta Party illegally maneuvered through the Texas State Legislature, a congressional redistricting plan that assured their junta would be allowed more seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
I believe that he will either be indicted for illegal use of campaign funds, or lose his election in 2006, or both.

Like Hitler and his goons, if anyone disagreed with them, they were destroyed. Bush may not use violence, but ask anyone in government who has disagreed with them publically, what his wrath feels like! Richard Clarke, Ambassador Joe Wilson, Valarie Plame Wilson, Paul O'Neill, and others what happens when you cross the path of the Bush "administration".

Lies will certainly catch up with them eventually, but they have successfully introduced the American people to FACISM, without them even noticing!

Oh and one more comparison....Josef Goebbels, Hitler's Minister of Propaganda, once retorted, "perpetuate a lie, and when you repeat it over and over, it eventually becomes the truth"!!
